Altrincham Kersal . . . 13pts

Birkenhead Park . . . . 25ptsBIRKENHEAD Park made it three North One League wins in a row as they came back from a 13-0 deficit to overcome Altrincham Kersal.

Kersal started well with two penalties by Chris Stuart. Dave Kilbride scored a home try after the ball rebounded off the post following another penalty attempt, but Stewart made no mistake with the conversion.

The Park forwards became increasingly influential with Njike Tchakoute in good form in the back row. Tchakoute had a try disallowed, but hooker Chris Jones put Park back in the hunt with a try following a line-out drive.

Tony Handley kicked a penalty to narrow the gap further as Park increased the tempo. Jones claimed his second try following a ruck near the Kersal line to level the scores and Handley's conversion gave Park the lead for the first time after 68 minutes.

The Park forwards were now in complete control and Jones completed his hat-trick following another line-out drive. Handley converted and added a final penalty to seal the victory.

Second row Paul Hellier won important line out possession for Park as another masterful forward display was the key for Birkenhead.

Park's, whose scheduled Cheshire Cup tie was conceded by Winnington Park on Tuesday, have a bye in the National Cup this Saturday.
