THE devastated family of a dad-of-two who was crushed by a car at work have paid tribute to "the most loving man".

Chris Boon, of Derbyshire Hill Road, died on Monday, September 10, at T&D Autos on Fleet Lane, after he was found beneath a car.

The 47-year-old, a mobile mechanic with his own company CBV Services, was working on a car at the Parr dealership, which is owned by his sister Trish and her husband Tony Smith, when the incident happened.

His family told the Star that they believe that the car Chris had been working on slipped off its axle stand.

His wife Ayshea Boon, 44, said: "He went to work happy as Larry and the next thing I know I'm getting a phone call from my sister-in-law telling me to get down there.

"It was terrible I just never thought anything like that had happened, he was always knocking his head on things and I thought he'd just hurt himself.

"This is just a tragic, horrific accident and I just can't believe that he's gone.

"He was the most loving man you could ever meet in your life, he was daft but would do anything for anyone, sometimes he was too nice.

"He wasn't just important to us, he was a good and kind person to everyone he met."

Ayshea shared a story on when they were driving down the M5 and saw a car on its roof on the central reservation

Chris pulled over and ran over to help the driver.

She said: "He gave him CPR and I called for an ambulance. Chris saved his life because he knew how to help others. We are still friends with the man on Facebook to this day.

"I was so lucky to have had him, I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

"I'm disabled and he not only cared for me, getting me ready and everything, but he looked after the kids and the house and was the bread winner here.

"He never moaned and I guess him being such a nice person came across to others because we have had so many come forward to us since he died.

"We've even had people in the street handing us money towards his funeral. I just hope he knew how much people cared about him and will miss him.

"We as a family are devastated and can't imagine what to do without him."

Chris, who was originally from Stoke-on-Trent, was the proud dad to Hebe, 18, and Callum, 17. He died two days before he was due to celebrate his 26th wedding anniversary with Ayshea.

His sister Trish, 40, added: "Chris was one of the most honest people I have ever known and such a kind person.

"I spoke to him earlier that day as I live at the site and he had been happy. I'd been hanging up the washing and said 'I'll get ready for work and come and see you' and he answered 'no problem'.

"I'll never forget that day. He was the only blood family I had left, I just can't believe something like that happened to him."

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 1.30pm at St Helens Chapel and Crematorium.

His wake will be held at Clock Face Labour club on Clock Face Road from 3pm.

The family have requested that any contributions towards the cost of his headstone be made at the wake.

An inquest into Chris's death was opened and adjourned last week.
