AS Storm Ali strikes the North West today forecasters have issued another weather warning for this weekend.

The Met Office have issued a severe weather warning for wind between 9am on Sunday, September 23 to 9am on Monday, September 24.

Due to a deep area of low pressure Merseyside will be hit with a spell of strong winds and heavy rain throughout Sunday.

Although forecasters are uncertain of how this will develop, they believe there is a chance of disruptive winds developing in North West England and Wales which are most at risk.

Residents are being told to expect some damage to buildings such as tiles being blown from roofs, falling trees and branches.

People in coastal areas should also watch out for large waves and beach material being thrown onto roads and properties.

There is a chance that power cuts may occur and a possibility of longer journey times.

It is believed after this windy start, next week may see more settled weather.
