THE original cast of smash hit '80s TV series Fame are getting back together for the first time on a UK stage in 35 years in aid of Claire House.

The Fame UK reunion - at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on May 5 and 6 next year - will feature songs from the American series, along with new and original material.

Liverpool Dance Company will be backing the show keeping the vibe young and fresh.

Original cast members taking part are Erica Gimpel, who played Coco, Valerie Landsburg (Doris), Lee Curreri (Bruno), Carlo Imperato (Danny), P.R. Paul (Montgomery), Cynthia Gibb (Holly), Nia Peeples (Nicole) and Jesse Borrego (Jesse).

The cast is brought together by a small team of volunteers, producing the show in aid of the Claire House Children’s Hospice.

A spokesman for the show said: "The Kids from Fame are one of the biggest pop acts from the 1980s, emerging from the immensely popular television series Fame.

"The show ran for six seasons. Five television soundtrack albums were released.

"Due to huge demand, the cast members did two concert tours as 'The Kids from Fame’ in the UK, Europe and Israel, including the Royal Albert Hall.

35 years later the cast are back in the UK and are ready to "celebrate life" with you.

"The concerts are in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice. All net profits will be donated to this charity.

"Claire House helps seriously and terminally-ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life.

"By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support they help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher."

Hannah Shannon, head of communications for Claire House, told the Globe: "It's fantastic and really exciting that the stars of 'Fame' are getting back together for us.

"The show's producer Sue Hinds and Valerie Landsburg, who played Doris, came visited Claire House last year and we're really impressed by what they saw."
