Crowds gathered for the annual Southend Carnival.

The procession started with about 60 floats and groups.

It started from Southchurch Park, Southend.

It arrived at City Beach at about 8pm and finished at the seafront at Shorefield Road at about 9pm.

Groups there included Southend Samaritans, Hamelin Trust and many more.

All the fun, colour and sounds of the fair and carnival filled the air.

Cheers and claps were heard as the procession made its way through the town centre.

Southend Street Pastors were out caring, sharing and listening during the event along with police officers working to make sure everyone stays safe.

The amazing Rampage performers also took part with their elaborate and very colourful costumes.

The Scouts were seen bouncing around Southend.
