ORGANISERS of this year's North West Football awards have made a final call for Wirral clubs to submit their entries.

Now in its 11th year, the North West Football ceremony will see 22 awards presented to those who have achieved footballing excellence on and off the field from grassroots level through to the upper echelons of the sport.

The entry deadline is next Friday, August 24.

NWFA organiser Laura Wolfe said: "The NWFA has grown year on year and is all about celebrating excellence throughout the region both on and off the field.

"Last year's event culminated with an extraordinary moment that saw Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs and Vincent Kompany join together on stage to present the lifetime achievement award to Brian Kidd.

"Before that though there was a raft of incredible nominations submitted which then had to somehow be condensed down to shortlists for each individual award by our esteemed judging panel.

"This year will no doubt be of the same high standard - if not higher – given what a sensational year it has been for football in the North West.

"With entries continuing to pile up we'd still love to hear from as many clubs and organisations across the region and are urging them to make their nominations ahead of the August 24 deadline."

The BBC's Dan Walker will host the 2018 NWFA at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday, November 12.
