LARGE kite demonstrations are among the entertainment at Hoylake Lifeboat Station's Open Day tomorrow.

There will also be trade stands, charity stalls, raffles and tours of the lifeboat during the free public event on Hoylake Promenade.

It raised £20,000 last year.

Hoylake Lifeboat and hovercraft will be on display and the public will be able to come aboard meet the crew and have a look around.

West Kirby Lifeboat will be there with their inshore Lifeboat and Hagland tractor.

Representatives from the coastguard, Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) and other rescue services will be displaying their rescue equipment.

There will also be an original restored Green Goddess Fire Engine for young and old to explore along with vintage buses from Birkenhead bus and Tram Museum.

The boathouse will be open for the sale of souvenirs, Christmas cards, calendars and refreshments.

Children's entertainment includes an inflatable assault course and funfair.

The event takes place from 10am to 5pm.

The promenade will be closed to traffic from 8am to 6pm.

Event spokeswoman Carole Jackson told the Globe: "With the lovely weather we have had over the past few months we are hoping the day will be fine, although we would like a little breeze for the kites!

"The public will see our volunteer crew at all the road closure points and shaking collection buckets along the promenade, do pop and say hello and put your donation into the buckets.

"The RNLI is a charity that relies on your donations."
