TRANMERE Rovers midfielder Ollie Norburn has today joined Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.
Norburn came to Prenton Park last summer for free after leaving Macclesfield Town.
He made 42 league appearances in a Tranmere shirt, helping the club to promotion from the National League back into the EFL.
Manager Micky Mellon said: "Ollie made it clear to us over the last couple of weeks that he wanted to play at a higher level and the offer Shrewsbury made met our valuation so we reluctantly allowed him to move on.
"We are looking to strengthen the squad with the funds from his sale and if we are unable to do so before the transfer window closes later today then we will look to move in the loan market before the end of the month.
"However, we have a good squad already and I have faith in the players who put in a good performance at Stevenage and we have to make sure that anybody we bring in is the right player for Tranmere Rovers.
"We wish Ollie the best of luck at his new club and thank him for his time at Tranmere."
