A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving following a crash which has left a nine-year old-boy in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called at around 3.45pm today (Sunday, July 29) to Leasowe Road and Mill Lane following reports of a crash involving one car.
A nine-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a head injury.
His condition is believed to be critical.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving.
Police have closed both roads as the investigation continues to establish the circumstances of the incident.
