POLICE have released images of their 10 most wanted fugitives as part of 'Operation Hunted'.

After 242 arrests during the first week of the operation, officers are now appealing to trace a number of criminals who they are calling Merseyside's 'most wanted'.

Among those include Anthony Stanley, 30 from Woodchurch who is wanted in connection with making threats to kill and for breach of a harassment order and 54-year-old John Higginson from New Brighton, who is wanted in connection with a theft in Pensby on June 21, 2017 and a robbery in Birkdale on September 29, 2017.

Chief superintendent Rob Carden said: “After a very successful first week of Operation Hunted we are maintaining the pressure on named fugitives and this second week will see another huge push in locating them.

“A concerted effort by teams from across the force has resulted in 242 arrests so far and we are determined to keep growing this number as Op Hunted continues.

"I would like to assure you that if you are wanted, we are coming for you and you will be brought into custody and either put before the courts or put back in prison."

Others wanted by police include:

  • Shaun Walmsley, 29, from Walton - Wanted after he escaped lawful custody on February, 21 2017 whilst attending an appointment Aintree Hospital. Walmsley was serving a life sentence for the murder of Anthony Duffy.
  • John Morrison, 49, from Wavertree - Wanted in connection with a burglary in Liverpool on Thursday, 20 July 2017.
  • Jason Curry, 23, from Huyton – Wanted in connection with the murder of Yusuf Sonko, who was shot dead in Toxteth on Friday, 2 June 2017.
  • Anthony Reilly, 21, from Prescot – Wanted in connection with making threats to kill.
  • Christopher Noon, 25, from Prescot –Wanted in connection with a section 18 assault in Haydock on Saturday, 10 February 2018.
  • Christopher Robins, 35, from Wavertree – Wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary in Liverpool in early June 2018.
  • Jamie Wainwright, 25, from Haydock – Wanted in connection with a section 47 assault which occurred in Haydock on Tuesday, 23 January 2018.
  • David Ungi, 26, from Allerton – Wanted in connection with the murder of Vincent Waddington, who was shot dead in Garston on Wednesday, 15 July 2015.
