FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of a horse trapped up to its neck in water.
Crews were called to Adfalent Lane, Willaston at 9.15pm last night, Friday.
One fire engine attended from Powey Lane, the Animal Rescue Unit from Bollington and the Rope Rescue Unit from Lymm.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman said: “The team worked closely with an equine veterinary nurse to remove the horse from the water to a nearby field where it was safely assessed.
“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately 90 minutes.”
