POLICE are appealing for information after Persian rugs, a print and a backgammon table were snatched at a burglary in Birkenhead.

The incident took place between July 14 to 16 when items of sentimental value were stolen from a house in Argyle Street South.

Merseyside Police have now released images of the stolen items in an attempt to find out more information about their whereabouts.

Detective inspector Mike Dalton said: “The items that were stolen are not only very distinctive but hold great sentimental value to the owner, who is keen to see them returned.

“I’m appealing to anyone who may have been offered these items for sale to get in contact – I’m sure if you’d been shown these items you would remember it. I’d ask anyone with any knowledge of this incident or the stolen items to get in contact.”

Officers would urge anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC or 101.
