TRANMERE Rovers will host Premier League side Liverpool FC in a pre-season friendly at Prenton Park next month.

Scheduled for Wednesday, July 11, kick-off 7.30pm, it will be an excellent test for Micky Mellon's side prepare for the first season back in the football following promotion from the National League last month.

Rovers have added defender Mark Ellis and midfielder Ollie Banks to the squad so far this summer.

This will be the first opportunity to welcome Mark Ellis to Prenton Park, and to welcome Ollie Banks back to the Club.

The club anticipates making further additions to the squad before July 11.

This will be the third consecutive summer that Liverpool FC have visited Prenton Park after previously running out narrow 1-0 winners in 2016 with striker Danny Ings scoring in a game which saw the debut of Sadio Mane, before last year's 4-0 victory.

The Reds had a strong season in 2017-18, finishing fourth in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League Final where they narrowly missed out to Real Madrid in Kiev at the end of last month.

Ticket information for this fixture will be announced in due course.
