TRANMERE Rovers' goalkeeper Scott Davies has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The 31-year-old came to Prenton Park in the summer of 2015 from Fleetwood Town and has been an almost ever-present between the sticks during that time, making 149 appearances.

Davies helped the Club back into the Football League, playing in the victorious National League Promotion Final at Wembley Stadium against Boreham Wood at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, the fourth time he has been promoted in his professional career.

The new contract means he will stay at Prenton Park until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Manager Micky Mellon said: "Scott is a really good goalkeeper and I'm delighted to keep him at the football club.

"He played a major role in helping us to promotion back into the Football League and has got experience of playing League football previously.

"I'm sure he will have an important part to play in continuing to help the Club move forward."

Scott added: "I'm delighted to sign a new deal with the club.

"After finishing the season the way we did, it was a no brainer.

"It was just about dotting the Is and crossing the Ts and I'm now looking forward to the next two years and trying to continue the success of last season."
