TRANMERE Rovers' striker Connor Jennings has signed a new contract which sees him at Prenton Park until the end of the 2019-20 season.

The 26-year-old arrived at the club in summer 2016 from Wrexham where he had been captain.

He had previously played for Macclesfield Town and Grimsby Town as well as gaining Football League experience in League One with Scunthorpe United.

During his two seasons at Prenton Park, Jennings has been a key member of Micky Mellon's side, making 78 appearances and scoring 17 goals.

He has also been a creative force for the team, assisting a number of goals including the cross for James Norwood's winning goal in the Promotion Final at Wembley to secure Tranmere's place back in the Football League.

In December 2017, Jennings picked up the National League Player of the Month award after scoring six goals in four league games during that period.

Manager Micky Mellon said: "Connor played a big part in helping the team to promotion back into the Football League so I'm delighted to keep him at the football club.

"He is a very clever and talented player who has done really well for us, so I'm pleased he'll be part of the group which will embark on our first season back in League football."
