BRITISH folk-rock band Fairport Convention will end their gargantuan UK tour next month at New Brighton's Floral Pavilion.

With their ground-breaking album Liege & Lief being crowned the 'most influential folk album of all time', Fairport Convention has made music for more than 50 years, going through many changes but current members still have that passion for live performance.

Now the group will crown their 51st year on the road at the Floral Pavilion on June 10.

Over this year's Spring Tour, the band will feature a mix of long-established Fairport favourites and new material from their most recent studio album 50:50@50.

Founding member Simon Nicol said: "I know that at some point in the individual lives and experiences of our fans, something Fairport has done has reached into them and made an impact and a connection.

"They may have nothing else at all in common, but at our gigs we are at the centre of their personal Venn diagram."

We have two tickets to giveaway.
