A NEW gym promising 'never seen before' classes and state-of-the-art equipment will soon open in a Wirral town.

Advance Fitness Heswall will offer users facilities its owners say are not available elsewhere in the borough, with a focus on team exercise.

It will open on July 21 after its application to display its advertising sign on the outside of the building was approved by Wirral Council’s planning officers.

Andrew Murray, director of the new gym, said: “We felt that Heswall needed a premium level, deluxe style boutique, user-friendly gym that it doesn’t have at the moment.

“The gym game at the moment is pushing more towards team exercise.

“We have had the site for a while now but didn’t know what to do with it, so we did a tour of gyms in London, York and Manchester having a look at different styles and ideas. There’s no other gym like this in Heswall.”

The club will benefit from equipment provided by Artis Range, and will be the first in Wirral to do so.

The gym, inside a former office, will run sessions including group cycle, power hour, spinning, bums and tums “as well as some new exciting classes never seen before”.

Mr Murray added: “We are bringing the best in innovation and technology to Heswall with our state-of-the-art fitness suite powered by Technogym’s diamond black Artis range.

“Our gym users will have the ability to use our very own Advance Fitness app which will allow members to make bookings, track their progress and monitor their results.

“Our friendly team of qualified trainers and instructors will make all of this technology and equipment super user-friendly and they are available at all times to create bespoke diet and workout plans.”

The plans were approved for the facility, which will be on the first floor, back in October last year.

It will be open on weekdays from 6am until 10pm and weekends from 8am until 8pm.

This week, the gym had an application for its logo to be adorned on the building above the Costa and Domino’s on Telegraph Road approved.

The application concluded: “The proposal is designed to comply with policy and guidance, whist offering the site a sophisticated option for development. The applicants are keen to prove the scheme will be successful and are excited to provide a scheme that will look to play positive part of Heswall Town centre.

“The scheme will produce a high quality building in a very desirable retail area, in which the character of the existing building and locality will be retained. The choice of materials and form have been carefully planned and considered to achieve a sustainable and achievable scheme that will prove to be a promising contribution to the high street.”

Mr Murray said the build would start in the 'next couple of weeks.'
