POLICE are appealing for information to trace a man in connection with a double stabbing in Ormskirk.

Two men, in their 20s and 30s were taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds after the incident outside the Horse Shoe pub on Southport Road at around 2.45am on April 28.

Merseyside Police has circulated a photograph of 28-year-old John Hames Jones from colleagues in Lancashire.

Jones, 28, of Ennerdale Drive, Aughton is 6'1" and of heavy build and has links to the Merseyside area.

Detective inspector Graeme Simpson of Lancashire Police said: “We are appealing for anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts to please come forward.

“If you see him, or know where he is, please contact police immediately.

“Likewise, if Jones himself sees this appeal, I would urge him to attend the nearest police station.”
