IT'S been another busy week for the Chester & Wirral Football League with fixtures coming thick and fast - 40 being played in the last week alone.

On Saturday in the CWFL Roodee Web Designs Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy Division Two side Ellesmere Port Reserves booked their semi-final place with a great 4-2 win over highflying Franklyn's with goals from Lewis Fearon, Josh Forster, Liam Smith and Ben Smith.

Steve Rothwell replied with a brace for Franklyn's.

Shaftesbury Youth were in CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division action twice this week.

On Monday they beat Ellesmere Port FC 6-1 and Saturday they drew 2-2 with Higher Bebington Kelma, Ian McGraa and Danny Whitehead the scorers.

Simon Tierney and Kenny Mahon were the Kelma marksmen. Newton Athletic put in a perfect performance at home to Christleton Celtic, coming away 9-1 winners with goals from Ben Woodman (3), Dan Christianson (3), Jack Denman, Adam Pownall and Jake Zahringer.

Sutton are still on top after their 4-0 win over Helsby with goals from Daniel Woodcock 2, Liam Brennan and Jordan Grey.

Katongo Nkonde hit a consolation for Blacon Youth Reserves who went down 4-1 to Cestrian Alex in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Division One.

Adam Crimes (2), Josh Camy and Tom Richardson were the Cestrian scorers.

Col Campbell and Kyle Stoddart were the Chester Argyle scorers in their 2-2 draw with Clubbies.

Harry Hornsby netted for Hoole Rangers as they went down to the in form Helsby Reserves who had Lewis Fenlon, Adam Newbolt and Callum McCaffrey (3) on the scoresheet.

Upton Bears Paw keep up the pressure on Ellesmere Port Reserves in the CWFL Link Up Division Two with a resounding 8-0 win over Rossmore Rangers, Chris Larson (2), Jamie Hughes (2), Luke Williamson and Andy Skinner their scorers.

FC Duddon (Will Furnedge and Robbie Plank) drew 2-2 with Hoole Youth, Sam Wynn Hughes and Nikkan Matthews.

Andy Blackwell and Garry Owen hit the winners for Orange Athletic in their 2-1 win over Eastham Athletic, Lewis Stevenson.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division One Trevor Worsley hit five of Neston Nomads Vets six in their 6-3 win over Blacon Youth, Mike Ryan added the other.

Over in CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Two Kev Rogerson and Mike Jones (2) hit the mighty Tarvin goals that beat Dee Rangers 3-1, Jim Turner the Dee marksman.

In CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Three goals from Luke Guest and Charlie McDaid gave Ellesmere Port Town Vets a 2-1 win over Mostyn, Paul Jones.

Derek Nurse (2), Phil Reeves and Karl Davies were on target for Farndon Vets in their 4-1 win at Crossway Vets, Bal Darnoi their scorer.
