ARRIVA bus users will no longer be able to buy Wirral Zone day tickets on board services after a shake-up.
Merseyside passengers will see the withdrawal of both the Liverpool Plus and Wirral Zone day tickets this week as the company trials new, reduced ticket prices.
Arriva also revealed that the price of a weekly ticket will be slashed to encourage more people to use bus services for just six weeks.
The Arriva weekly ticket will be cut by £2 to £15 from March 18.
This ticket can be used across all routes in Merseyside until April 28 and will be able to purchase on board and via Arriva's m-Ticket app.
All adult, young person and student single fares will also be frozen.
The Merseyside Zone day ticket for travel on all Arriva buses throughout the region, including cross river services, will also be reduced from £4.60 to £4.40.
Arriva say that they will be reviewing the changes over six weeks.
Head of marketing Lisa Pearson said: “We hope that our reduced weekly fare will encourage more people to travel by bus, and we will be reviewing how well the offer is received by our passengers over the next six weeks.”
