A BLACK tie fundraising event has raised £2,250 for brave three-year-old Edie Molyneux.

Organised by Carli O'Toole and Sophie Edwards, all cash raised from the event at Paradox in Heswall on Friday, March 2.

Brave Edie from Tranmere, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) last year and travelled to Mexico in January to receive IA chemotherapy and immunotherapy not available in the UK.

Her family set up The Spider-Ede Appeal to raise cash for the groundbreaking treatment.

So far £121,565 has been raised of the £700,000 total.

Carli told the Globe: "I'd seen posts on Facebook about Edie and I knew Sophie had already organised a raffle for her so I thought why didn't we try to raise more cash by putting on an event.

"I clean at Paradox and know the DJ so I gave them a message and they were more than happy to help.

"They put on all the food free of charge and were great hosts.

"The event went really well and we auctioned off some great prizes such as gym memberships, signed football shirts and tattoo vouchers.

"We even had drag queens, a band and DJ Rakeem providing entertainment.

"I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved.

"It was so nice to see everyone come together for a good cause.

"I don't know the family or Edie but I just wanted to help.

"Hopefully others will put on events to raise cash for Edie."
