A MAN is being treated for serious head injuries after an attack in Birkenhead.
Emergency services were called to Larch Road at around 4.20pm today (Tuesday) following reports that a man in his 40s had sustained a serious head injury.
It is believed the victim was walking down the road when a man assaulted him before running towards Mount Grove.
He has been taken to hospital for further treatment.
An investigation has now been launched into the attack and CCTV enquiries are ongoing
Borough Road has now reopened after a cordon was is put in place between Balls Road East and Victoria Road.
An air ambulance was also in attendance.
