A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash in Wallasey.

Emergency services were called at around 8.10am today (Friday) to the junction of Torrington Road and Daresbury Road after reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and Vauxhall Astra.

The motorcyclist, a man in his early 20s, was treated by the North West Ambulance Service at the scene for serious injuries and significant bleeding.

He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital just after 9.20am but sadly he later died.

His next of kin have been informed and dedicated officers are supporting them at this difficult time. 

Road closures remain in place following a scene investigation.

Merseyside Police are now appealing for witnesses.
