WIRRAL dance group MerseyGirls are set to perform for the first time since leading member Julia Carlile’s life-changing surgery to raise cash for Alder Hey.

Formerly known as Just Us, the girls performed on Britain’s Got Talent and were chosen as Alesha Dixon’s Golden Buzzer act in the auditions, sending them straight to the semi-finals.

The girls will perform in a one off show at the Liverpool Empire on Sunday, February 11 alongside other Britain’s Got Talent acts such as Susan Boyle, Paul Pots, Tokio Myers, Collabro and Lance Corporal Richard Jones with all proceeds going towards Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

This special show will mark Julia’s return to dancing after life-changing spinal surgery.

Made up of best friends Alice, Poppy, Julia, Annie and Rebecca, MerseyGirls were close to winning the £250,000 cash prize which was hoped to go towards getting specialist surgery for Julia who battled with spinal condition scoliosis.

Without the operation, only available in America, Julia would have been unable to continue dancing.

After missing out on being crowned winners, head judge Simon Cowell offered to pay £78,000 for Julia’s surgery to help her get back to dancing as soon as possible.

In July 2017, Julia travelled to America to have surgery with her family by her side.

She has since returned and is ready to take to the stage for the first time since her op for Britain's Got Talent's Big Celebration.

Alder Hey has a place close to Julia’s heart as they first treated her when she received her initial scoliosis diagnosis.
