TWO people were taken to hospital following a house fire in Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 4.15am on Tuesday, December 26 to a house at Ruthin Court after reports of a fire in a bedroom.
Firefighters rescued one person from the house while three others managed to evacuate themselves.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital by paramedics.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames and then used a large fan to clear any smoke.
After an investigation, it was revealed that the fire had been caused by smoking materials and was accidental.
Firefighters remained there for three hours.
