THREE people have been arrested after a drugs raid at a house in Moreton

Merseyside Police confirmed the arrests after officers carried out two drug warrants at around 11am at a property on Hopfield Road.

Suspected cannabis, cocaine and cash were recovered from the house.

A 37-year-old woman from Moreton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, and money laundering.

A 20-year-old man from Moreton was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft (offences from November in connection with which he was wanted).

Following enquiries, an 18-year-old man from Moreton was also detained on Chapelhill Road after running from police and was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, and money laundering.

All three have been taken to a police station for questioning.

Wirral Targeted team inspector Chris Lucan-Pratt said: "When communities provide information on drug supply, we will take positive action.

"These drugs would have been destined for the streets of Merseyside, bringing all the associated risks of violent crime to the community.

"Merseyside Police is committed to tackling the supply of drugs and we will continue to proactively tackle criminal gangs who think nothing of flooding the streets with dangerous drugs in order to profit from other people's misery."
