ALL Arriva bus strikes have been cancelled after workers voted in favour of the bus company's latest pay offer.

Union members voted in a ballot on Monday and Tuesday.

Workers will now be paid £12.10 per hour which will then rise to £12.42 next year.

Planned strikes had been set for Wednesday, December 13; Thursday, December 14; Wednesday, December 20; Thursday, December 21; Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23.

But now, as the pay dispute has been resolved, these walk-outs have been cancelled.

Managing director of Arriva North West Phil Stone said: “Arriva North West is delighted that our latest offer of a two year pay agreement has been accepted by our drivers.

“Throughout this dispute we have maintained that talks and compromise on both sides are the only way to find a resolution.

"This new agreement means our passengers no longer face the prospect of disruption in the run up to Christmas.

“We hold our drivers in the highest regard and this pay offer is a demonstration of our commitment to invest in our workforce.

“We apologise to our passengers for the disruption over recent weeks and are delighted we can now return to delivering the best possible service to our passengers and the local economy.”

Commuters will still face some travel disruption after the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) confirmed that staff from Merseyrail will take 24 hours of strike action on Friday, December 22.
