Sir Ken Dodd has this urgent message for his Wirral fans – "the show will go on."

Doddy’s Christmas Happiness Show at the Philharmonic Hall on December 28 has been cancelled ‘‘due to unforeseen circumstances.’’

But the comedy legend says the fun-filled laughter event will now take place on the same day and same time but at another venue.

Speaking to the Wirral Globe today Doddy said: ‘‘Please tell all my friends over in Wirral land that the show is now on at the beautiful Auditorium at the Echo Arena, on December 28, at 7pm.

‘‘Those who booked tickets for the cancelled show at the Phil will receive a full refund from the Philharmonic Hall.

"The Auditorium seats 1,350 people (less than the capacity of the Phil) so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.’’

Doddy adds: ‘‘I am very happy to be spreading lots and lots of Christmas cheer in the wonderful venue.

‘‘It is the perfect finale to what has been a fabulous and memorable year for me both personally and professionally.

‘‘And at this special time I wish to say a very big and sincere ‘thank you’ to all the very many people who have sent me their lovely messages of goodwill and friendship and loyalty on my 90th birthday.

‘‘Through the Wirral Globe can I wish all readers on the peninsula and those who are coming to see my show a very merry and healthy Christmas and plumptious 2018.’’
