Heavy snow is expected throughout the weekend across the borough
DUE to poor weather scheduled fixtures on Wirral Council pitches will be postponed this weekend.
The council have made this decision after the Met Office released a severe weather warning for Saturday.
Heavy snow is also expected throughout Sunday across the borough.
A spokesman said: "We apologise to players, coaches and clubs for the inconvenience this causes.
"We ask for your co-operation that, in order to protect the condition of the pitches and allow them every opportunity to recover and become playable quicker, teams do not use the pitches to train or play friendly matches instead."
