STAFF at Dogs Trust Merseyside are encouraging dog lovers to swap shopping for adopting a lovable pooch this Black Friday.

Three-year-old Lurcher Bailey arrived at the rehoming centre as a stray and has now gor his paws crossed that Black Friday will prove lucky.

Centre manager Georgina Lowery said: “As people traditionally hit the shops on Black Friday, we’re using it as the perfect opportunity to celebrate a wonderful black dog in our care and encourage people to adopt not shop.

“Our black beauty, Bailey, really deserves to find his ideal home.

"He is a very sweet boy, full of fun and loves a good run around so he needs his new home to have a garden which needs to be secure as he’s very inquisitive.

"He likes to show off what he can do and loves to learn new things so he’d make a great family dog.

“He really is lovely so rather than heading to the shops, we hope people come to see him and decide he’s what they’ve been looking for.”

Bailey can live with children aged 14 and over and could potentially live with a canine companion.

He isn’t a fan of being left home alone so, particularly whilst he finds his paws, he would need his new owners to be around most of the time.

Georgina added: “Bailey really deserves a stroke of luck and we thought if any day would be lucky for him, then surely it’s Black Friday.

"If you think you could give him a happy home, please get in touch and he could be settled on your sofa in time for Christmas.”

Bailey can’t live with cats or other small animals.
