A closure on M56 westbound has been put in place following a serious crash.
Cheshire Police were called at 12.25pm today (Tuesday, 21 November) to reports of a white Mercedes sprinter van which is believed to have collided with the central reservation between junction 9 and junction 10 westbound.
Emergency services including the air ambulance are at the scene.
A 50-year-old man remains in a serious condition.
Traffic is very heavy and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Diversions are currently in place.
