MEMBERS of Wirral Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade marked the conclusion of their organisation's 125th Anniversary Year with a National parade and service at York Minster.

Representatives from Bebington and Noctorum were among 500 members who converged on York to celebrate the milestone at the weekend.

The Wirral members were part of 1st Chester Battalion on the day. 

A spokesperson for the brigade said: "Our organisation has a proud history and tradition of service to others.

"The CLCGB featurd children and young people of all faiths and none.

"It has over 100 active groups with over 5,000 members supported by an exceptional team of over 400 volunteers, who contribute many hours of volunteering time creating a caring and safe environment in which friendships between young people can be established by helping young people and children to grow in confidence, develop their skills and abilities enabling them to work together and to show care and concern for others and the community."

Bebington company meets on Thursdays at St Andrews Church Hall in Bebington from 6pm–8.30pm.

Noctorum meet every Tuesday at Noctorum Parish Centre from 5.15 – 6.15pm.
