Dickens meets G&S

WEST Wirral Musical Society's latest production, Dickens meets Gilbert & Sullivan, will be staged at Westbourne Hall in West Kirby from tomorrow (Thursday) until Saturday, November 16-18.

Coffee morning

WIRRAL Animal Welfare Association's coffee morning will be held next Saturday, November 25, at St Stephen's Church Hall in Prenton from 10-12.30pm.

Admission is £1.50, including refreshments.

Harp recital

A HARP recital by Elizabeth McNulty from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic will take place at St Peter's Centre in Heswall Lower Village on Monday, November 27 at 1pm.

A COFFEE morning aid of Wallasey branch of guide dogs will be held at St Alban's Parish Church in Wallasey this Saturday from 10am-midday.

Admission is £1. There will be cake and gift stalls and refreshments.

Piano recital

DINA Duisen and the Ruisi Quartet will play a range of classical pieces during a concert at St Hildeburgh's Church in Hoylake later this month.

Taking place on Monday, November 27, it features Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat, Op.44, Haydn's String Quartet in G, Op.33 No.5 and Dvorak's Piano Quintet in A, Op.81.

WALLASEY Girlguides Christmas fair takes place next Friday, November 24.

Held at the division HQ in Leasowe Road, Wallasey it will from 6.15pm to 8pm.

Oxton Art Fair

THE 14th Oxton Art Fair will take place later this month.

A diverse mix of interesting and innovative work by 24 professional and semi-professional artists will be on display during the event at Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Slatey Road, Birkenhead on Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26.

Regarded as Wirral's must-visit pre-Christmas event, it gives both gift buyers and browsers a chance to chat to the artists about their work and if they choose, buy a truly individual piece.

The event is open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, November 25 and 10am-4pm the next day.

There will be children's activities on throughout the weekend and refreshments for sale in the new Williamson café.

'The laughing policeman'

RETIRED police officer Bill Johnson will talk about The Laughing Policeman as The Bebington Family History Society's guest later this month.

The group meets on November 27 at Bebington Civic Centre at 7.30pm.

It holds a help desk session at Bebington Library on the the first and third Thursday of each month between 10am and midday to help with your family history research.

Festive fundraiser

A CHRISTMAS coffee morning will be held at Heswall United Reformed Church, next to Tesco, on Saturday December 2 from 10am-midday.

Coffee and Warm Mince Pies.

WIRRAL Potters' Christmas Exhibition will be held at West Kirby Concourse from a week on Saturday, November 25 until Saturday, December 9.

Open during library hours, it will feature the work of 18 potters, displaying a wide variety of pottery and ceramic sculpture.

Christmas social

HESWALL Gardening Society's Christmas social evening will take place on Monday, December 4.

The event, at Heswall Hall, will feature music by Peter Lord, a quiz, auction, grand raffle and competition.

It starts at 7.30pm.

Christmas countdown

A PRE-Christmas fair will be held at Wirral Environmental Network's premises in Falkland Road, Wallasey on Saturday November 25 from 11am-2pm.

Art class
