The Independent Police Complaints Commission has begun an investigation following a fatal car crash in Wirral.
At around 8.40am, on Sunday, October 22, a suspected stolen Vauxhall Vectra crashed on Bebington Road while heading towards Birkenhead.
The two men in the car were taken to hospital.
Brandon Griffin aged 21, died on Monday evening after being treated for his injuries, a second man aged 26 remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Following a referral from Merseyside Police, IPCC investigators were deployed to the scene on Sunday.
Their investigation will look at the actions of Merseyside Police prior to the collision.
All police officers involved are currently being treated as witnesses.
