A WIRRAL cemetery has been awarded the prestigious Green Flag for a second year.
Frankby Cemetery is the only fully operational cemetery in Wirral to win the award.
It is awarded in recognition of how well the site is managed and how welcoming the flora and fauna are to wildlife.
The area is equally accessible to all and that it is seen as a safe and welcoming place
Attending the flag's launch ceremony were mayor and consort, Ann and Bill McLachlan, Anthony Bestwick, manager of Wirral Council's parks and Gardens department, Cath Hollywood from Friends of Frankby Cemetery and David Howard, the cemetery sexton.
Also attending were cemetery volunteers Rob Dolphin and Brian Sinton.
