LESS than a week after ex-Hurricane Ophelia Wirral is set to be hit by 70mph winds from the South.
The Met Office announced a yellow weather warning for wind from 4am to 11.59pm on Saturday, October 21.
A spell of strong southwesterly winds is expected with some coastal routes and communities likely to be hit by large waves with the potential of flooding.
Transport disruption is likely across the North West with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
There is also a possibility for short term power cuts.
The chief forecaster said: "An intense low pressure system is expected to bring a swathe of strong winds over southwestern areas early on Saturday, these steadily transferring east through the morning and early afternoon.
"The winds initially southwesterly will gradually turn westerly later whilst also slowly easing.
"Gusts exceeding 50 mph are expected widely within the warning area, with gusts of around 70 mph along exposed coastal areas.
"These are expected to coincide with high tides, leading to locally dangerous conditions around the coast.
"This warning has been updated to now include coastal parts of northwest England and has also been extended further north over central England."
