A WIRRAL teenager has been selected to represent Great Britain at a global Double-Mini trampoline competition.

Megan Cummins, from Birkenhead has been working towards her dream of reaching the World Age Group Championships once again to become the world number one in double-mini trampolining.

At 13 she flew to Denmark to represent Great Britain in the 2015 World Age Group Championships and last year won national titles including English champion, British champion and Women’s Superleague national champion.

Recently Megan took part in the British Championships at the Echo Arena and a week later was told that she would represent the UK in the World Age Championships.

Megan told the Globe: “I performed very well in the final round of the competition which gave me a great outlook on hoping to be selected for the World Championships this November.

“A week later, it was announced that I had been selected to represent our country.

“I am so overwhelmed and excited about this event.

“My family are very proud of me and are now beginning to try and raise money for me as the event is self-funded and will cost around £2,000.”

Next year Megan will also be taking part in the Dallas Cup in Texas but is in need of sponsorship to be able to compete in both these competitions.

She added: “I am also attending the Dallas Cup in January 2018 in Texas.

“I’m so thankful for all these opportunities but again this will cost around £900.

“I would be extremely grateful if anyone would be willing to sponsor or help me raise any money for my career in such a great sport.”
