MERSEYSIDE Police are investigating an arson attack on an outbuilding at Irby Park.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue service were called at around 5.49pm on Sunday after reports of a fire in sports changing rooms at the park on Mill Hill Road.
Three fire engines attended the incident and crews wearing breathing apparatus used main jets to extinguish the flames
No-one was injured.
Firefighters ventilated the area and used a thermal imaging camera to search for remaining areas of heat.
The contents of the building were severely damaged by fire.
Firefighters remained at the scene for around two hours and 20 minutes.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
