POLICE are appealing for information to help trace a missing 39-year-old man who went missing in Turkey.
Gary Burns, from Birkenhead has lived in Icmelar and Maramaris in Turkey for the past 10 years, was last seen on August 5, 2016 in Turkey.
He is white, 5ft 11in tall, of slim build and with brown hair.
He has a Merseyside accent.
The investigation is currently being led by the authorities in Turkey and Merseyside Police is offering assistance to Mr Burns’ family in the UK and to the Turkish authorities.
Police officers are making extensive efforts to find Gary and return him home safely.
In April, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office released this statement: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Turkey.
“We are in contact with the Turkish police.”
Detectives would urge Gary, anyone who knows his whereabouts, or who has seen a man resembling him, to call police on the 101 number.
