LIBRARIES will once again be celebrating a love of literature next month as the annual 'Bookfest' returns.

Running throughout October Wirral Libraries will host 12 diverse author events covering genres such as horror, humour, sci-fi and romance.

Authors joining in with Wirral Bookfest this year include Maureen Lee, whose books are set in her home city of Liverpool.

Crime-writer Kate Ellis who was recently shortlisted for ‘The Crime Writers’ Association Dagger in the Library 2017 award’ is also taking part alongside local horror writer Ramsey Campbell.

Other wordsmiths involved include Andy Sawyer, Elizabeth Gates, Stephen May, David Hewitt, Angela Brabin, Shirley Jones, Dean Johnson, Howard White & Ian Sloan and Diane Hinds.

Each event is free and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Wirral Libraries.
