A SEVEN-year-old boy has died following a crash in Upton earlier this evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a black Honda CR-V on Saughall Massie Road at around 5pm.
The seven-year-old boy, a rear passenger in the Honda car, was taken to hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.
Specialist family liaison officers will be supporting the child's next of kin.
Three adults were also injured.
Saughall Massie Road is closed in both directions between its junction with West Kirby Road and the Heron Road/Pump Lane roundabout while police carry out their investigation.
Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
