A WIRRAL woman cut has chopped 30cm of her hair to help children who cannot grow their own.

Vikki Quinn, 29, from Wallasey decided to cut off her hair to make a difference in someone else’s life and manage to raise £624 in the process – surpassing her £600 target.

Earlier this year Vikki decided that she wanted to start raising cash for different charities and signed up to do Race for Life’s ‘Pretty Muddy’ with three of her colleagues.

After that she decided that she wanted to raise even more for charity and decided to give up the one thing she loves most – her hair.

The Little Princess Trust is a children’s cancer charity which provides real hair wigs to children suffering with cancer for the duration of their treatment.

The charity also assists children with other conditions which also result in hair loss such as alopecia.

Vikki said: “I had long hair and 90 per-cent of the time it was tied up.

“I had been deliberating for a while about donating it and so I took the plunge.

“This was a really hard decision for me, as for most girls our hair is a part of who we are.

“However I couldn't imagine it being taken from away from me at least I'm making the decision to donate.

“I'd like you all to join me on this journey of helping the little princesses.”
