LARGE kite demonstrations are among the entertainment at Hoylake Lifeboat Station's Open Day taking place tomorrow.

There will also be trade stands, charity stalls, raffles and tours of the lifeboat during the free public event, which has raised thousands of pounds for the station over the years.

Hoylake Lifeboat and hovercraft will be on display and the public will be able to come aboard meet the crew and have a look around.

There will also be an 'original' Green Goddess Fire Engine for young and old to explore along with vintage buses from Birkenhead bus and Tram Museum.

It starts at 10 am. The promenade will be closed to Traffic from 8am to 6pm.

Organiser Carole Jackson told the Globe: "We are hoping for some good weather, as well as a bit of a breeze for the Kites.

"Last year the Kite displays were well received by the public, and I am pleased to say that we asked them come and display again for us and they were delighted to be invited.

"For the first time last year we had an assault course it attracted a lot of youngsters and this year we have also added some Zorbs for extra fun.

"Lifeboat crew will be along the promenade collecting valuable funds for the RNLI but particularly for Hoylake Lifeboat."

Last year, more than 15,000 people turned out for the event, which raised more than £16,000.
