A PRE-SEASON friendly will be held at Oldershaw Rugby Club to raise cash for Wirral dad Robby Potter who was seriously injured in the Manchester terror attack.

Robby Potter has spent the last two months in Wythenshawe Hospital recovering from severe injuries caused by shrapnel in the explosion after an Ariana Grande concert on May 22.

22 people were killed and 59 were injured during the attack at the Manchester Arena where Robby was waiting for his daughter Tegan.

The fundraiser will see Oldershaw take on Wallasey in a friendly on Saturday, August 12 from 1pm at the club's Belvidere Road site.

Alongside rugby there will also be a BBQ, bouncy castle and karaoke with many mini-events to raise cash for Robby and his family.

Organiser Mike Shackleton said: “As many will know, one of our friends was seriously injured in the Manchester bombing while waiting to collect his daughter from the concert.

“He remains in hospital receiving treatment.

“We have decided to dedicate this day as a fundraiser for Rob.

“If anyone would like to volunteer to help throughout the day with the BBQ or fundraising, or would like to donate any prize for raffles then please get in touch.”
