A FAMILY fun dog show organised by Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom takes place this Sunday.

Now in its third year, it will be held in Queen's Park, Hoylake, from 10am.

It features nine fun classes including best trick, best fancy dress and most handsome dog.

There will also be a special demonstration by the British international search and rescue team, providing there is no call out, and a chance to put your dog through its paces on an agility course.

Open day

WEST Kirby Ladies Bowling Club is holding two open days later this month.

A chance to 'have a go' at the sport, they will take place at the upper green in Ashton Park, West Kirby on Tuesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 24 from 11am till 4pm.

Country dancing

SCOTTISH country dancing sessions will take place at Royden Hall in Frankby every Monday night from September to May.

MICHAEL Murphy will give what promises to be an amusing and entertaining talk entitled The thing about Wallasey as Bebington Family History Group’s guest later this month.

HESWALL Hall Cinema will screen The Viceroy's House at Heswall Hall tonight, Wednesday.

It is the the story of the birth of independent India, and the decision to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan.
