A CHEF who own's one of Heswall's top eateries, Burnt Truffle has had three of his establishments placed in Squaremeal's annual UK's Top 100 Restaurants.

Gary Usher, from Chester is the only restaurateur to have more than one establishment in the list with Sticky Walnut in Hoole, Hispi in Didsbury and Heswall's Burnt Truffle all making it onto the prestigious top 100.

The awards voted by readers of the site and top food bloggers announced Sticky Walnut as number 14, Burnt Truffle at number 48 and despite only being open nine months Hispi featured at number 98.

With London restaurants excluded from the list regional restaurants are given the chance to shine and Gary's restaurants have done just that.

Gary said: “We’re absolutely chuffed to have not just one, but all three of the restaurants featured in the list.

"The Top 100 is a great way to champion restaurants outside of London and ensure the hard work all the regional teams put in is recognised.

"With Wreckfish in Liverpool opening in September, we’re hopeful that we’ll have another restaurant to add to the list in 2018.”

Both Sticky Walnut and Hispi also featured in the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards Top 100 UK Restaurants earlier in the year.
