FLAMENCO gowns were the choice of attire for Wirral schoolchildren as they said “hola” to all things Spanish.
Pupils at Riverside Primary School started the day with the Spanish theme of 'Feria', Chimi-Changa restaurant provided a food preparation workshop and even had a member of the Spanish Embassy for education attend.
This was all made possible by the school's Modern Foreign Language co-ordinator Nick Kenwright
Nick told the Globe: "I wasn't sure if anything could beat our Mexican themed day last year, but this years Hispanic day was something really special.
"As our day had a traditional Spanish 'Feria' theme this year and ate tapas, danced flamenco and our marvellous caretaker even built a 'chiringuito' style beach bar, where we served non-alcoholic rejujitos and sangrias.
"It once again reflected the fantastic spirit and energy of our school and I was extremely proud of all the pupils and staff.
"We were also very lucky to have the wonderful help of the lovely María Carmen Santos Maldonado from the Spanish Embassy, who helped all day with active Spanish language workshops.
"Massive thanks also go out to Alison Christy from Wirral School Of Dance for teaching Flamenco, Chimi-Changas restaurant for once again helping us with food preparations and finally TESCO for helping provide food and drink for the day.
"Like last time, we really showcased our schools multi cultural appreciation as well as our enthusiasm for learning a second (or third) language.
"Well done everyone."
