AN ANNUAL celebration afternoon was held at Willaston C of E Primary School to give the pupils a chance to be awarded for their fantastic achievements.

On July 14 the community came together to celebrate with the primary school and were joined by the mayor of Ellesmere Port cllr Nicole Meardon.

Cllr Meardon was given a tour around the school and was shown the children's recent school project based on the book 'Walk this World' by Lotta Nieminen.

The school also celebrated their recent success in both the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools Report (SIAMS) and Ofsted report. 

Being assessed as 'Outstanding' in their SIAMS and rated as 'Good' by Ofsted.

HMI inspector Will Smith said: “The school has established a caring and inclusive school ethos that is underpinned by increasingly high academic expectations.

"The school is a respectful, enthusiastic and happy community in which every pupil receives the individual care and attention needed to thrive”.

Headteacher Julie Chambers said: “We are very proud of our children and our recent achievements and look forward to the successes of the next academic year ahead."
