A WIRRAL schoolboy has cut off his hair for charity to help children who have lost their own through cancer treatment or other illness.

Toby Wheeler from Hoylake first decided three years ago that he would grow his hair to then cut it for children's cancer charity the Little Princess Trust.

The cut took place in Toby's school Holy Trinity Primary where Wirral West MP Margaret Greenwood was on hand to cut the first braid before hairdresser Claire Whiteley from Oasis Hair Design stepped in to finish the job.

Toby's hair will be given to the Little Princess Trust who supply real hair wigs to children across the UK and Ireland.

As well as donating his hair Toby has raised nearly £600 for the charity.

Ms Greenwood said: “I was delighted to be asked to play a part in the cutting of Toby’s hair.

"He is a real inspiration to the other children in his school who were all very excited to watch proceedings in the playground.

"The money Toby has raised and the beautiful hair he is donating will be very much appreciated by the Little Princess Trust and all of those who will benefit.”

Toby said: “My hair feels much lighter and I’m thinking about giving skydiving a go next.”
