A WIRRAL eatery was presented with a prestigious accolade at the Cheshire Life Food and Drink awards.

Blackberry Grove based on Victoria Road, New Brighton took home the Outstanding Customer Care Award at the ceremony on Monday.

As one of the most anticipated events in the North West's culinary calendar, the Cheshire Life Food and Drink Awards featured high quality food producers, top pubs, restaurants, hotels and talented chefs.

Owner Joanna Jones expressed it was one of her long term dreams to win the award.

She told the Globe: "I'm absolutely delighted to get such recognition for the team.

"We have a tight knit, hard working crew here and this really makes the continued efforts and hard work worthwhile."

Blackberry Grove offers a wide range of dishes catering for all tastes and needs.

Joanna added: "I'm from Liverpool myself and I know if people come over to New Brighton from out of town, they head straight to the Waterfront.

"It's nice because it means that everyone who comes to us, does so mainly upon recommendation but it also means we have to fight that bit harder to make ourselves heard."

The restuarant has also appointed a new two AA rosette award winning head chef and is looking forward to a busy summer.

Joanna said: "We have a great outdoor seating area so perfect for alfresco dining.

"We are also close to lots of children's activities so great for family days out so really feel like there is something for everyone here."
